Treasures of the Gypsy Challenge 2009

I recently finished my entry for the Treasures of the Gypsy Challenge. It was my first time entering. Although there was a lot of paperwork, I was happy that I finished my doll and sent her on her way. Her skirt is made up of cut up squares and rectangles of different fabrics and pieced together like a quilt. She is dipping her toes into acrylic water. The rocks, waterfall and tree trunk are all made of a light weight modeling compound called "Delight" and then painted.

Hoffman Doll Challenge

I am entering the Hoffman Challenge for the first time. I finally got my entry finished. The Hoffman fabrics that I used were called "Earth Pearl" and "Green Pearl" so the Name of my entry is "Earth's Future is Green". She was adapted from Sherry Goshen's Celyn pattern and I used her Jesse pressmold. (Cloth over clay...my first attempt at that as well).

Creations In Fiber

One of the Winners by Agnes Illey of the Netherlands....

I recently returned from a Creations In Fiber Conference in New Mexico. It was wonderful to see old friends and meet new ones. I took a 3-day class with Sherry Goshen and Jean Bernard...two fantastic teachers. There were two Perfect Score winners this year, my Friend Agnes from the Netherlands and Ms. Nancy Gawron a famous teacher of Critters.

Mother's Day Gifts

Today I helped my Grandson make a little Mother's Day gift for his Mom and Step-Mom. We used his own hair for the babies' hair. We also used some glitter on the babies and I think the shine of it distorted the photos a little, but in person there are really cute. I think he had fun.

Ginger's First Dress

Today I made a puppy dress for the first time. It is for Ginger, my son's dog. She is the only girl in the family, so I used fabric all the boys could relate to. I will get a picture of her in it as soon as I can.

Another Shopping Spree

I went back to the Road to California conference again today. I took a picture of Pamela from Treasures of the Gypsy. I also bought one of Arley Berryhill creations and one of his patterns. I also took photos of the Hoffman Challenge dolls although I don't think I know any of the creaters...still they are fun to look at.

Road to California

Today I went to the "Road to California" quilt conference. Although I don't quilt anymore, there were lots of great fabrics and trims to look at and I bought a few. My favorite place was of course, Treasure's of the Gypsy.

After I finished the fireplace, I decided the kitchen was next in line to paint.

I took a break from cleaning and doll making and decided to paint the fireplace once again.
